Chris Earhart


Christopher (Chris) Earhart was born and raised in Staunton, Virginia. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1973 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond in 1977. Chris has been employed at Dixie Gas and Oil full time since 1977 and in various part time positions prior. He has been President since his father passed away in 1991.

Chris is a member, past president, and former director of the Virginia Propane Gas Association. He has served on the board of directors of the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) since 1997 and currently serves on the Governmental Affairs and Member Services Committees. He has served both on the Executive Committee and as chairman of the Member Services Committee of the NPGA and was appointed to serve as Treasurer beginning in June 2015. Chris has served as a member of the Augusta County Industrial Development Authority, a member and Chairman of the Augusta County 4H/FFA Market Animal Show Committee, a board member of the Blue Ridge Community College Foundation, a Director of the former Planters Bank and Trust Company, and an Advisory Director of the Augusta Cooperative Farm Bureau. He has also served on the local board of Subway franchisees in Augusta and Rockingham Counties. Chris is a member of the Management Committee of the Shenandoah Valley Railroad, a freight shortline, which operates between Harrisonburg and Staunton, Virginia.

Chris attends Covenant Presbyterian Church where he has served as elder, treasurer, recording secretary, and chairman of the finance, administrative, and building committees. Chris and his wife Becky reside near Verona and have a small cow/calf farming operation. His daughter Sarah graduated from Bridgewater College and resides in Verona, and his son Will graduated from West Virginia University and resides in Anchorage, Alaska with his wife, Erin.

Danny Alexander

Executive Vice President

Danny grew up in Mt. Sidney, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1974.
Danny joined Dixie Gas & Oil in 1975 as an office manager. He served as secretary/treasurer before stepping into his current role as executive vice president.

Danny serves as the managing member of the Valley Rail Service LLC. He is actively involved in the Virginia Propane Gas Association and has served as secretary, treasurer, vice president, president and director. Danny has also served as member and officer of the Verona Ruritan Club and as a member of the Verona Volunteer Fire Department Advisory Committee. He has served as director, vice president and president of the Valley Alliance for Education.

Teresa Ervin

Vice President of Administration

Teresa grew up in Mt. Sidney, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bridgewater College in 1987. Teresa joined Dixie Gas & Oil in July 1987, as a Customer Service Representative. She then served as an Accounts Payable Clerk, Human Resource Administrator, and Office Manager before her current role as Vice President of Administration.
